As Vice President of Real Estate, Mr. Mason oversees Oxford’s operating businesses including four hotels, one convention center and an athletic club. The hotels include a Hyatt House in Broomfield Colorado and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, a Hyatt Place in Grand Rapids Michigan and a Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Monroeville Pennsylvania. Mr. Mason also is responsible for overseeing the Monroeville Convention Center, and the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford Pennsylvania.
Mr. Mason’s executive role includes directing the management team at each of the four properties to maintain budget control and maximize financial growth and stability. He also is responsible for leading Oxford Development Company’s external affairs with an emphasis on active participation in civic and government affairs.
Mr. Mason started his career practicing law in South Florida from 1988 to 1990. He concentrated his practice in the area of construction litigation. He is a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania and Florida.He joined Oxford in 1990 and held positions in commercial and retail leasing and brokerage services, and as Assistant Vice President and General Manager of One Oxford Centre, where he oversaw the daily operations of a 1.3 million square foot Class A office complex, including ancillary retail stores, restaurants and a parking garage.
Mr. Mason Chairs Oxford Development Company’s internal charitable and political giving committee and is a member of their business development committee and the health and wellness committee. He also serves the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership as the Chair Elect, and the Boards of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, the Circles Board of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and the Pittsburgh Chapter of NAIOP, and is a member of the Community Relations Committee and Board of Directors for the Rivers Club in downtown Pittsburgh.
Mr. Mason received his B.A. from the University of Miami and his J.D. degree from Duquesne University School of Law.
