Oxford breaks ground and announces first tenant at airport corridor flex office development

PITTSBURGH, May 18, 2015

Oxford Development Company and its partners today broke ground on 250 Industry Drive, a $13 million, 16-acre, flex office campus development in the Parkway West Corridor, providing a total of 88,000 square feet of flex office space in two buildings.

The proposed development will provide 100% efficient flex office space, allowing opportunity for greater density and open and exposed floor plans in an area where demand for office space is high. The efficiency of space and flexible design is attractive to a wide range of companies looking for general office space to R&D and product assembly space.

“The Parkway West Corridor continues to be a strong sub-market in the region and the highly efficient flex office product is helping drive the demand,” said Steve Guy, President and CEO, Oxford Development Company. “We are excited to announce Under Armour as our first tenant in the project.”

Under Armour will occupy a portion of first building for their showroom operations, marking their first Pittsburgh presence.

In recent years, the airport corridor has seen a remarkable amount of office development activity, with several projects either recently completed or under construction.
“Our focus in the County has been on creating shovel-ready land to encourage development and growth, and attract new businesses, particularly on county-owned property,” said Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald. “We have watched the airport corridor flourish and have seen businesses, both new and established, take advantage of the opportunities in our region. We’re thrilled to see this development by Oxford and look forward to their continued growth.”
Oxford has secured a 50-year lease with the Allegheny County Airport Authority for the site.

“We are extremely happy to have Oxford as part of the development group at Pittsburgh International Airport, and we look forward to continue working with them. We’re very excited about this development, particularly the jobs it brings,” said Christina Cassotis, CEO, Allegheny County Airport Authority.
250 Industry Drive was designed by WTW Architects with Al Neyer as general contractor.

Occupancy will be delivered in October of this year.
