Allegheny County Airport Authority And Oxford Development Company Announce New Construction On Pittsburgh International Airport Property

Agreement with Oxford Development for 16.2 acres on Industry Drive, Findlay Township

PITTSBURGH, PA (June 13, 2014) – The Allegheny County Airport Authority and Oxford Development Company announced today an agreement to develop approximately 16.2 acres on Industry Drive in Findlay Township, PA.  Oxford plans to build up to 100,000 square feet of speculative Class A flex office space on the site, consisting of a single, larger flex office building or two separate buildings.  The site is located next to the Thermo Fisher facility, 300 Industry Drive.

“Our focus in the County has been on creating shovel-ready land to encourage development and growth, and attract new businesses, particularly on county-owned property,” said Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald. “We have watched the airport corridor flourish and have seen businesses, both new and established, take advantage of the opportunities in our region.  We’re thrilled to see this development by Oxford and look forward to their continued growth.”

“Pittsburgh International Airport’s role as an economic generator is two-fold: Providing high quality, competitive air service in and out of southwestern PA and developing key properties to attract new industry and jobs.  We are pleased to announce this exciting new partnership with Oxford Development,” said Chairman David Minnotte, Allegheny County Airport Authority.

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with the Authority to build in the thriving airport corridor.  Our commitment to build on a speculative basis shows the strength of the market place and our commitment to the Pittsburgh region.  Oxford Development Company has developed over 40 million square feet of real estate across all asset classes including office, retail, hospitality and institutional in the Pittsburgh region and nation-wide. Every project is planned and executed by qualified development and construction professionals,” said Steve Guy, CEO, Oxford Development Company.

This flex-office building is planned to be built on a speculative basis or will be made available for a custom built to suit for a signature tenant.  The building will offer exceptionally efficient floor plans for functional layouts with an abundance of natural light and parking.
