Full-Time Residential Maintenance (Union Position)
Full-time Union position to work at an apartment in Pittsburgh’s Strip District neighborhood.
The shift is 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday with alternating Tuesday through Saturday. Must be on call 24 hours per day, when scheduled. Overtime will be needed for emergencies.
- General residential maintenance experience which includes appliance repair, light carpentry, plumbing, and electrical
- Knowledge of safety procedures
- Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repair in a timely and professional manner in a residential building
- Assure all service requests and renewal requests are completed on a daily basis. Report and follow up on incomplete service requests
- Complete the apartment make-ready checklist. Inform the site manager of needed services and repairs
- Routinely perform duties to restore apartments to make-ready status
- Re-inspect vacant apartments after make-ready has been completed to determine the quality of work performed
- Ensure an adequate number of make-ready units are available and that the products are up to company standards
- Accurately document work performed on service requests, including parts, and return to the supervisor by the end of the day
- Complete special projects as may be assigned and prioritized by management
- Inspect the exterior of the residential property. Perform building and common area upkeep daily in accordance with company standards. Assist in keeping grounds neat and free of litter
- Complete or oversee the completion of preventative maintenance
- Order parts and supplies and maintain inventory, utilizing an inventory system. Maintain shop appearance, proper equipment, and equipment inventory to ensure warranty compliance
- Perform and report on all work according to the safety standards of the company, OSHA, and health codes. Perform work area clean-up on a weekly basis
- Must have a dependable vehicle to transport tools and equipment to job sites. Must provide proof of liability insurance for the same
