Oxford Development Co. briefed the Pittsburgh Planning Commission on its demolition plan to make way for a new 100-unit apartment building called Craft Place on the Boulevard of the Allies in South Oakland.
Oxford is working in partnership with the development interests of roofing company and restaurant entrepreneur Ed Dunlap to replace a long unoccupied car dealership property at Craft Place and Boulevard of the Allies with a new apartment complex of 100 units and 70 parking spaces.
With a redesigned project to be presented to city in late June, Kelley told the commission the demolition is expected to take four months.
He added the development team plans to move directly onto site work and construction on the new apartment project directly after demolition is completed, if all goes according to plan.
Kelley said the project would replace a structure that’s been an eyesore in South Oakland for 30 years.
