Since the formation of Allegheny Health Network one year ago, Highmark has been committed to keeping care in the community by providing patients with a full spectrum of healthcare services in convenient, close-to-home settings. As a result of this commitment, residents of Bethel Park and its neighboring communities will have access to expanded outpatient surgical services at Jefferson Hospital’s Bethel Park Campus.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday, June 5 for a new $17 million addition to the Bethel Park Health + Wellness Pavilion, 1000 Higbee Drive, Bethel Park. David Holmberg, Highmark president and CEO; John Paul, Allegheny Health Network president and CEO; and John Dempster, Jefferson Hospital president and CEO, joined other Allegheny Health Network and Jefferson administrators and community leaders to mark the momentous occasion.
The 35,750-square-foot addition will include a state-of-the-art 18,000-square-foot Ambulatory Surgical Center with three operating rooms and two gastrointestinal procedure rooms. It also will feature a Medical Oncology Suite with six treatment chairs for cancer patients, a Family Practice Suite and a physician office.
The new facility is scheduled to open in 2015.
A wide range of specialty services currently are available at The Bethel Park Health + Wellness Pavilion, including women’s health services, behavioral health care, cardiology services, gastroenterology, general surgery, orthopedics, primary care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, diagnostic and laboratory services, and physical, occupational and aquatic therapy.
