As Chief Investment/Financial Officer, Derrick brings over 15 years of exceptional experience in real estate to Oxford, with a proven track record in asset management, acquisitions, and development.
Before founding Abide Capital Group, Derrick served as Vice President of Asset Management and Acquisitions at Draper and Kramer, where he led their asset management department. He designed and implemented a comprehensive asset management platform for their multifamily portfolio, focusing on financial oversight, operational excellence, and strategic direction. His innovative approach to maximizing asset value through strategic planning, budget analysis, capital management, and successful transactions made a significant impact.
Additionally, Derrick honed his expertise at The Habitat Company and Redwood Capital Group, where he managed diverse portfolios across multiple metropolitan markets. With a proven track record in asset management and acquisitions, particularly in multifamily real estate, Derrick will play a key role in strengthening our financial foundation as we continue to grow and deliver exceptional developments.
Derrick holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
