PPG Science Pavilion™

Inspiring the next generation of creative thinkers for the workforce of the future.

Inspiring the next generation of creative thinkers for the workforce of the future.

The new PPG SCIENCE PAVILION™ at the Carnegie Science Center will strengthen the Center's ability to deliver informal STEM education and career awareness programming to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers and prepare them for the workforce of the future.

PPG Science Pavilion, which is built to LEED® Gold certification standards, will enable Carnegie Science Center to expand our STEM education offerings, use early learner classrooms to model best practices in STEM for preschoolers, and provide camps and classes on topics such as coding, cybersecurity and river chemistry.

With nine classrooms – including a wet lab – we will be able to offer more programs for children, teens, and adults, plus host additional teacher professional development programs on STEM education. In addition, the Scaife Exhibit Gallery will allow the Science Center to host major international touring exhibitions that currently do not come to the Pittsburgh region.
