AHN Cancer Institute at Allegheny General Hospital

AHN Cancer Institute at Allegheny General Hospital

World-Class Cancer Care in Downtown Pittsburgh

A leading cancer center, for the entire patient experience

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) retained Oxford to provide owner's representative services for the construction of a $78.6 Million, 81,000 square foot, 3 level addition to the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh's North Side.

Working as AHN's Representative, Oxford guided the health network through all phases of construction, up to and including the challenges surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. While delays were inevitable due to the evolving health and safety landscape, Oxford was able to deliver the center on-budget.

The AHN Cancer Institute is one of just six U.S. health systems, and the first in western Pennsylvania, to begin treating cancer patients with the Elekta Unity MR-Linac, an innovative first-of-its-kind technology that combines diagnostic quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and linear accelerator radiotherapy in one interactive machine to more accurately and safely eradicate malignant tumors.

The AHN Cancer Institute boasts a partnership with the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer Program, facilitating world-class cancer care from top experts.

Beyond surgical care, the AHN Cancer Institute will also provide nutritional and financial counseling, social services, a salon for women undergoing treatment, and valet and family services to care for the patient in totality.
